THE WEDDING COLLECTION GUIDE
Welcome
You're engaged! Congratulations! I’m so glad you’re here!
Welcome to the Avoda Studios collections guide. Every wedding I photograph is a privilege I don't take lightly. I'm excited at the possibility of being part of yours.

THE COLLECTIONS
The Escape
Some weddings call for more. More time, more travel, more of everything it takes to do the location justice. The Escape collection is built for that. Designed entirely for destination weddings, every element of your coverage is built from scratch around your day, your location and the scale of what you are planning. Multi-day coverage, full creative commitment, no limits on where in the world we go. This is the most exclusive thing I offer and it is available by custom quote only. If it feels like yours, get in touch.

The Signature
Your wedding will have more happening in it than any one person can hold. The Signature collection is built around that truth. A second photographer works alongside me throughout the day, covering angles, people and moments that a single lens would miss. Two rolls of film add depth and texture to the final gallery. What you receive is an expansive, considered body of work that does justice to how much your day actually held.

The Classic
Some couples want one artist, one perspective, one consistent eye across the entire day. The Classic collection is built for them. I photograph your wedding solo with two rolls of film, delivering the same finish you would expect from any Avoda gallery. Every image comes from the same place, the same instincts, the same way of seeing. It is an intimate, focused approach and for the right couple, it is exactly enough.

"Indy made our dreams come true and we are so in love with all the special memories Indy captured on the best day of our lives! Indy was the perfect mix of professional, fun and relaxed which allowed us to have our candid and intimate moments forgetting he was there but also getting the photos we had dreamed about. He knew all the right locations and lighting and made the whole shoot feel effortless. We are so grateful we have these photo memories for a lifetime to come. Thank you so much Indy and Avoda Studios!"

Frequently Asked Questions
-
I put everything into photography and nothing else. One craft, done with full intention. While I don't offer videography, I do work closely with a small circle of filmmakers I trust and I'm glad to recommend someone whose vision fits yours. The goal is always a day that feels cohesive from start to finish.
-
My collections aren't built around a set number of hours. I believe in capturing your whole day. If it's a part of your story, I want to tell it.
-
Yes! My booking system accepts secure credit card payments and it's a popular choice. Many couples use it deliberately to rack up points on their wedding spend, putting them toward flights or a honeymoon upgrade. Worth keeping in mind as you plan across your vendors.
-
Rain is one of the few things we can't control on a wedding day and honestly, it rarely matters as much as couples fear. As your day approaches, I'll keep a close eye on the forecast and check in if conditions are shifting. If rain arrives, we adapt and work with it rather than against it.
Some of my favourite work has come from wet weather days. The light softens, the pace slows and there's an intimacy to those moments that a clear blue sky simply can't replicate.
-
Travel within three hours of Sydney is included in all standard collections. No hidden fees, no unexpected add-ons.
Weddings beyond that distance fall under my Escape collection, where travel and accommodation are built into your quote from the start. Transparency around costs is something I take seriously, so you'll always know exactly what's included before signing anything.
A lot of destination couples choose to accommodate me on location, whether that's a guest suite, spare villa or a room at the venue. It keeps things uncomplicated and means I'm there from the first moment to the last. We'll sort all of that out together early in the process.
-
Wedding dates fill faster than most couples expect, so I always recommend booking 10 to 12 months in advance. If you have your eye on a particular date, it's worth reaching out sooner rather than later. A 30% deposit is all that's needed to lock it in.
-
When you book Avoda Studios, you're booking me. I'm behind every email, every conversation and every photo on your day. I do have a team of associate photographers available for dates where I'm already booked, but that is always communicated openly and only ever offered to couples who are keen on the Avoda Studios experience regardless. No surprises, ever.
-
Honestly, most of my couples say this before their wedding and forget about the camera within the first hour. The way I work puts your experience first. I bring a speaker and a curated playlist to set the atmosphere, I'll guide you with enough direction to feel confident, and when the moments start flowing on their own I know to get out of the way. You don't need to be a 'photo person.' You just need to be present, and I'll take care of the rest.
-
Calm, warm and genuinely invested in you both. That's what I always hope couples feel on the day. I put real effort into building a relationship before the wedding, so by the time I arrive it already feels natural. On the day I bring a calming presence, help de-stress the room, remind you of the small things and make sure you're actually soaking it all in. I'm friendly with your guests and family and I genuinely love celebrating the people I work with, not just photographing them. I'll always start my morning slowly at a local cafe before I arrive and from there my goal is simple: to blend in, keep things easy and let your day be everything it's meant to be.
Wedding Vendors I’d Recommend
The vendors on this list have earned my recommendation for different reasons. Some I've had the privilege of working alongside. Others I know through the industry and have followed long enough to trust completely. What they all share is a standard of work and a way of caring for people that I think you'll notice from the first conversation.

Ivan Dinh Films | Enquire Here | Social Link
Ivan is my brother and before launching Avoda I spent a handful of years working alongside him as a second videographer, learning the rhythm and responsibility of wedding days from his perspective. He brings a thoughtful and grounded approach to filmmaking, intentional in every frame and measured in the way he tells a story. We've photographed and filmed many weddings together and our creative approaches have naturally aligned over time. Being booked together is the most popular request I receive, and honestly it's easy to see why. When couples have us both, the day just flows.
Bloom Films | Enquire Here | Social Link
The best way I can recommend Isaac is to tell you he filmed my own wedding. Ivan was my best man, so Isaac stepped in on his behalf and the result was everything I could have hoped for. Bloom Films is Isaac and Sam together and they bring the same care and craft to every wedding they take on. Their films are beautiful, considered and made to be watched for a long time to come.
Alexander Li Films | Enquire Here | Social Link
Alex's work is the kind you watch and immediately feel the care behind it. Composed and full of heart, without ever trying too hard. Alexander Li Films bring a level of artistry to wedding filmmaking that sits naturally alongside the kind of photography I aim to deliver. I recommend him because his values on a wedding day reflect mine closely.
Timothy Blacketer Films | Enquire Here | Social Link
Tim's films have an arthouse quality you don't often see in wedding work. Sharp, personal and full of energy without ever feeling overdone. He shoots digital and Super 8, takes the time to understand each couple before the wedding, and brings real creative identity to every film. Featured in Hello May alongside Matt Ashton Photography. Based in Sydney and available worldwide.
More Life Films | Enquire Here | Social Link
More Life Films make wedding films that feel genuinely romantic without tipping into cliché. A boutique NSW based team featured in Vogue, The Wed and The Bridal Journey, with over a decade of experience and a real instinct for the unplanned moments that make a day what it is. Available worldwide.
